Debbie
Hello I’m Debbie Adams, fully qualified and insured Complementary Therapist and the owner of MeTime Holistics since 2020.
My passion for complementary therapies developed when I experienced for myself just what a positive difference they make to body, mind and mood, especially if you’re having a tricky time.
I know the level of care and attention to detail that I appreciate from a treatment and I make sure my clients receive the same. You can expect high standards of professionalism, competency and cleanliness to make sure you get the most from your treatment.
Having regular me time is no longer a luxury or something for a crisis point in your life, it’s a valuable part of caring for yourself.
Life can be hectic, even stressful at times. Stress, tension and chaos are saboteurs of our health and well-being. I learnt this from experience and am now a big advocate for taking regular me time…I named my business after it!
Complementary therapies are a lovely way to totally unwind and release stress…Leaving your body and mind feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated.
As well as supporting clients in my treatment room, it is a privilege to support people who attend these two fantastic services.
Crossroads Care is Britain’s leading provider of support for carers and the people they care for. They work with over 35,000 individuals and their families, helping carers to make a life of their own outside caring. I am privileged to offer complementary therapies as part of this support.
Be Well Doncaster peer group service supports Doncaster residents who are living with conditions such as fibromyalgia, diabetes, respiratory conditions or who need support following bereavement. As guest speaker, I share how Aromatherapy can support some of the key issues these groups are facing with some basic information about essential oils and a lovely product to make and take home.
And previously...
My career began as a Nursery Nurse in 1982 nannying for three adorable children in their family home. As they started school, I started work on Doncaster’s Special Care Baby Unit with a wonderful team caring for premature babies and their families. I especially loved teaching the new parents and siblings how to handle and care for their tiny new family member and, after four years on SCBU, I left to become a B.Ed (Hons) student at Bretton Hall, graduating in 1992.
My first teaching post was in Budapest, Hungary where I had the exciting privilege of setting up the nursery and infants department of the brand new Magyar British International School. What a fantastic experience that was! I even appeared on Hungarian TV explaining how children learn through structured activities which are meaningful and relevant to their age and stage of development.
On returning to the UK I taught in primary schools for a further 20 years which was the best job in the world until 2013 when … let’s just say absolutely everything changed, so much so that I no longer believed in what I was doing any more. It was a horrendously difficult decision to leave teaching in 2015 but, in reality, teaching had left me!
An awful turn of events in 2018 introduced me to Complementary Therapies…this was a diagnosis of breast cancer but thanks to the expertise of our marvellous NHS, an army of wonderfully supportive family and friends and Aurora Wellbeing’s package of Complementary Therapies, I not only beat the cancer but found my new vocation!
It was time to become a student again to achieve VTCT lev 2 then lev 3 in Complementary Therapies and set up my business.
I’m now extremely pleased to be able to offer the lovely benefits of a range of Complementary Therapies for clients who visit my treatment room, Crossroads Care and the BeWell Peer Groups.
It’s so good to say, ‘I love my job.’ once again!
